Splendid electronica
How has Ornament slipped under the radar for so long? Why are these albums and EPs not on netlabels?
And-- how would you categorize this music?
I don't have the answers to any of these questions...
The music of Ornament can be playful, complex, and mind-altering all at the same time. Fantastic use of samples- there's a hint of the grainy, scratchy, ghostly stuff that I love so much-- and when the beats kick in it will make you want to hop around the room.
It lacks the sort of pretension that is common in music of this genre- and I'll go as far as to say that it has a certain "pop" accessibility- making it listenable to your friends who don't share your love of electronic music...
Here's to YOUR history, Ornament-- keep up the great work- you are making people very happy with your sounds : )
